The first "bike sharing" in City of Rijeka

In order to expand public transportation and the introduction of new forms and content, with a special emphasis on the care of ecology of the Rijeka's pier area, UTE ltd started the implementation project of testing the bike sharing system in the city of Rijeka according the tender announced by KD Autotrolej ltd Rijeka.

The location of implementation of a new bike system is Rijeka's pier area which thereby enhance the current content of the area and offers a different view of the city to all citizens as well as tourists.

This is a test project, for the moment, which will examine the possibility of spreading of bike sharing on some other locations in the city. With this project the City of Rijeka joined a number of European cities that nurture and promote a healthy lifestyle and frequent use of this kind of transportation in everyday life. On the other hand, KD Autotrolej will offer a new component of public transportation which seeks less use of cars, reducing traffic congestion, which leads to a reduction in emissions in the city.

As previously mentioned, the supply and installation of equipment and information systems management as well the peyment system of bike sharing is appointed by UTE ltd from Pula.
