Project description:
The project for the reconstruction and repurposing of the Istrian County Materials Research Center METRIS (hereinafter: METRIS) is focused on fostering innovation, expanding knowledge and technology, and creating the necessary preconditions for SMEs to use innovative technologies to mitigate the negative effects of the green and digital transition in the area of Istrian County.
The purpose of the ISTRAživački centar METRIS project is to facilitate the transition towards a sustainable and climate-neutral economy in Istrian County by improving research infrastructure, strengthening the competitiveness and resilience of the economy, and encouraging business diversification of small and medium-sized enterprises from Istrian County through research and development in the fields of green and digital transition.
The overall objective of the project is to strengthen public regional research infrastructure through the reconstruction and equipping of the Istrian County Materials Research Center METRIS.
Specific objectives of the project:
1. Development of METRIS research infrastructure for the implementation of collaborative research and development projects of the business sector and for providing research services to SMEs from Istrian County;
2. Creation of new products with high commercial potential through effective cooperation between two SMEs from Istrian County and METRIS by implementing two research and development projects;
3. Encouraging innovation in the fields of green and digital transition among 20 SMEs from Istrian County through the provision of research and development services;
4. Strengthening the human capacities of SMEs from Istrian County by conducting five promotional and educational workshops on topics related to the just transition.
The target groups of the project are SMEs from Istrian County, while the final beneficiaries are economic entities from Istrian County as well as from Croatia, the wider region and the EU, the academic and scientific community, pupils and students.
Project activities include the reconstruction of the METRIS Research Center building, equipping and putting the METRIS Research Center into operation and the implementation of non-economic scientific activities, implementation of IRI cooperation projects (effective collaboration), project management, and project promotion and visibility.
The result of the project is the Istrian County Materials Research Center METRIS, equipped with specialized equipment and modern technologies.

Short description of the project
The "UTE IIP (Industrialization and Informatization of Production)" project will strengthen the company's competencies by investing in software solutions for collecting, analyzing and applying BIG DATA in business processes. The project will speed up and increase the quality of the final product, Multimodal stations for bike-sharing systems, while achieving energy efficiency and a circular economy.
Objectives and expected results of the project
The main goal of the company's digital transition is to improve performance, greater competitiveness and growth, and resistance to market challenges caused by the pandemic, which will be accompanied by an increase in sales revenue and export revenue in the target market.
